Life Update

Hey, everyone! Sorry that I’ve been MIA, a lot has happened in the past month and a half.

I’ve been busy with the job hunt and interviewing, which has left with with little time to read or write. I’m trying to get back into the swing of things, but I haven’t found a book that grasps my attention.

I’ve thought of reviewing ”A Court of Thorns and Roses”, but part of me thinks I should wait til all the books are published so that I can review the whole series together. My main reason for this is because my opinion of Book 1 vastly changed after reading Book 2 (“A Court of Mist and Fury”). To be honest, my opinion is constantly changing as I read a new book in the series, which makes it hard to write an honest review. For example, I did not appreciate or like one of the characters until I got to Book 4 (“A Court of Silver Flames”). There are 2 more books and a novella left in the series, so my review(s) might be put off til then. However, I will be reviewing “Crescent City: House of Sky and Breath”, which comes out next January 2022.

On the personal front, my mom had surgery recently, so things have been a little crazy (not to mention both dogs have been sick). Her recovery has been going well, but she’s out of commission for few weeks.

One positive that might be happening is that I might be starting a literary podcast with one of my best friends. We have the idea and topics, but we’re still looking into the optics on how we would do it (ex: microphones and figuring out GarageBand). Once we figure all that out and record a few sessions, I’ll post our sessions on here. However, our topics will not adhere to just YA literature, so the podcast would be 18+.
