Life Update and Book Club

Life has been crazy and the book club might be changing.

So, it's been a few weeks since I last posted anything. A lot has been going on in my personal life that affected me and my family mentally. Things are sort of becoming normal again, but it's still a process.

The book club lineup might be changing due to some complaints in the book club, although I do recommend you read the books on the list I already posted (the ones that draw you; don't read ones that you are uncomfortable with or don't interest you). I'll post an update with what the book club is going forward with. Some ideas we have are that each member of our book club is going to give a selection and everyone votes on one book per selection. The highest voted book will be the one we read next. This way, everyone gets a book they want on the list, and people still get to choose overall. We had an issue of people not recommending books or voting in the beginning, and when they joined, they were dissatisfied with the lineup. We also had a lot more female authors than male, which some people had issues with.

I will say that our current book, "The Shadows Between Us", is a much easier read, mentally. The book is also shorter, which I know people appreciate if they aren't used to reading novels. I'll be posting my thoughts on it as I write. You'll probably see a post either next week.

What I'll probably end up doing is doing an announcement post when we get a new book, so be sure to look out for that. If you have any thoughts on how we can go about our book club, let me know! I'm not one of the leads, but our leaders are open to feedback and ideas!
